New Years Eve Activities

New Years Eve Activities

As the end of the year approaches, it is time to reflect on the joys and challenges that 2022 has brought. Here at Mila and Rose, we believe that both the blessings and hardships of life help us to grow into more well-rounded and loving people; no matter your age. This being said, New Years is a time to be thankful for the year we have just lived, and “twirl” into the next with joyful and celebratory hearts…and what better way to celebrate than with sequins?!

Although your NYE with kids may look a little different than it did in the past, we believe it is even more special. Below we have listed some of our favorite family NYE traditions.
  • Lighting Lanterns:
    • While making New Years Resolutions may be a time-old tradition; here at Mila and Rose, we put a special twist on it. Have your family write down their resolutions on a small piece of paper, and attach it to a biodegradable lantern that you set into the sky! You can buy these lanterns online, or from many other party supply stores. Rather than keeping them to yourself, set your resolutions into the world as your first step toward accomplishing them. Not only is this a rewarding and memorable experience, but it is also a beautiful sight to watch.

  • Make DIY Confetti Poppers:
    • As a family, making your own confetti poppers to pop when the clock strikes midnight (or whenever the kiddos are ready to go to bed), is a fun way to celebrate your entrance into the new year! Not only are they fun to pop, but making your own also creates a fun activity leading up to the big moment. If you are throwing a party, consider having this as an activity station for kids and adults alike! Our only recommendation is finding pieces to put into the poppers that won’t be as hard to clean up. Take it from us…glitter never really goes away. ;)

  • Dress Up!
    • Whether you are staying in or hitting the town, it is fun to look and feel your best as you enter the new year. Even if you choose a pajama party, have a fun theme or matching colors!

  • TimeSquare Sing-Along
    • Set up your own “Time Square”, and sing along to the year’s greatest hits! This is bound to create a fun and joyful activity for kids and parents alike.

While these are just some of our favorites, there are so many fun NYE activities to choose from! Feel free to comment or share some of your favorites with us.
From our Mila and Rose family to yours, we wish you a Happy New Year, full of peace, love and blessings.
