One of the most common questions we get is: How do you get your tutu so fluffy? The secret is simple, it’s all in the fluffing!
Our tutu styles, including the Secret Garden 3/4 Sleeve Tutu Leotard, Puppy Love 3/4 Sleeve Tutu Leotard, and Retro Daydream 3/4 Sleeve Tutu Leotard, are designed with four layers of soft tulle to create that signature full, twirl-worthy shape. To get the best look straight out of the box, we recommend taking a few minutes to fluff each layer before wearing.
For the fullest, roundest result, fluff the tutu while it’s either on a hanger or being worn by your child. This allows the tulle to fall naturally into a perfect circle and makes it easier to see where extra volume is needed.
Start by gently lifting one layer of tulle at a time, separating it from the others. Use your fingers to lift the tulle up, working all the way around the tutu. Take your time, this step is key to creating volume.
Once you’ve finished the first layer, repeat the process with the remaining layers. Fluffing each layer individually allows the tulle to expand fully and gives the tutu its signature fullness.
After all four layers are fluffed, give the tutu a final gentle shake and voilà! You’ll have a perfectly round, full tutu ready for twirling, celebrating, and making magical memories.
