With how active and messy kids can be, you’ll want to protect the longevity of your kids’ clothes so they can get as many wears as possible. On our website, you can find specific cleaning instructions for each listing under “Fabric + Care”. If you need to see all this information at once, you’re in the right spot! Here’s an easy guide for the best ways you can wash different types of Mila & Rose kids clothing:
Most of our clothing is made of polyester or a polyester/spandex blend. For those items, such as our signature Twirl Dresses, you should wash them in the washing machine with the “Cold” temperature setting, then tumble dry low in the dryer.
For clothing that isn’t just made of polyester/spandex, such as our Sweaters, you should machine wash them cold, then lay flat to dry.
For our Tutu Dresses, you should machine wash them on delicate (preferably in a garment bag), then lay flat to dry. Tumble dryers often rip the soft tulle on the tutus, so if you absolutely HAVE to dry one of our Tutu Dresses in a pinch, we recommend that you put the dress in a garment bag so the tulle is protected.
For our Tutu Leotards, you should hand wash them or wash them in a garment bag with similar-colored clothes. Then lay flat to dry. Once dried, use your hands to pull on and separate the 4 layers of tulle to make the tutu fluffier. You can also use a steamer on the garment. For our Sequin Outfits, satin jackets, and shimmer jackets, you should hand wash them and lay flat to dry.
For our Pom Pom Dresses and Rompers, you should hand wash them or wash them in a garment bag with similar-colored clothes with a delicate or gentle setting. Lay flat to dry. Make sure to handle pom poms with care.
For our Swimwear, rinse after use. Then you should machine wash them cold and lay flat to dry.
For our Velvet Dresses, you should machine wash them cold. You can either tumble dry low or lay flat to dry.
For our Puffer Vests, you should machine wash them cold and lay flat to dry. You can use a cool iron if needed.
To clean our Crossbody Purses, dab them with a damp cloth.
