We always admired the crafts we made during the holiday season growing up, and we wanted to pass on the tradition with a slightly elevated look. We made these turkey headbands with Mila and Lola, and they were super easy and fun for everyone!  We were able to buy everything at Walmart, making this accessible to everyone.

What you Need:

  • Brown Construction Paper
  • Feathers
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Gold Glitter sheet
  • Cloth roll
  • Wood Beads
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue (Hot Glue and optional Spray Mount)
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

The Body:

Take the brown construction paper and cut out two circles, one slightly smaller than the other. We used two different sized jars to trace perfect circles. Repeat this step but with the cloth. Glue the cloth to the paper circles. We used a spray mount to do this, and it worked perfectly!

The Legs:

Take your pipe cleaner and thread about 5 wooden beads, leaving a small piece at the end for the feet.

Beak:

Cut out a small triangle with the gold glitter paper to make the beak.

Headband:

Cut the brown construction paper pieces into strips and staple them together to create the headband.

Assembly:

Glue down the feathers to the headband in a fan like pattern. Next glue the two circles together to make the body and glue the body down on top of the feathers. Next add the eyes and beak. Poke two holes in the body to add the legs and loop the pipe cleaner through that. Optional add on: use some pink fuzz or tissue paper for a tutu!
